The Charleston Battery announced Wednesday a unique partnership with the Charleston County Park & Recreation Commission ahead of the 2021 season. Charleston County Parks, which operates over 11,000 acres of property, including regional parks, beach destinations, historic sites, fishing piers and more, will become a Battery partner in promoting health and wellness via outdoor activities in the community.
“Charleston County Parks is thrilled to partner with the Battery,” said Charleston County Parks director of marketing Renee Dickinson. “We have a shared mission of bringing families and friends together and promoting wellness. Plus, our parks have great open spaces to kick around the soccer ball,” she added.
The club looks forward to working with Charleston County Parks and to promote a bounty of safe, outdoor activities across the Lowcountry to complement a weekend enjoying a Battery match at Patriots Point. “With our focus on promoting health and wellness in the community, partnering with Charleston County Parks is an exciting opportunity,” said Battery director of business development Ryan Knapp. “We’re looking forward to collaborating further with Charleston County Parks on events, both at our new stadium and across their network of amazing parks and amenities.”
To kick off the partnership, the Battery are giving away up to five (5) Charleston County Parks ‘Gold Pass’ memberships to current and new Battery Season Members, ending April 30. Any new and current Battery Season Members will be entered for the giveaway that includes admission to the parks and several special events such as the ‘Holiday Festival of Lights’.
As a local partner, the Battery look forward to continued opportunities with Charleston County Parks to share a love of the outdoors with fans and visitors, alike, during the upcoming season.
