Charleston goalkeeper Paul Lewis is set to return to the Battery for the 2021 season, pending league and federation approval. The 6’5” netminder out of Bellevue, WA first signed with the Battery ahead of the 2019 season after a college career at Loyola Marymount and Cal State, Northridge.
Lewis’ first season in Charleston was spent in a supporting role between the posts. During the latter half of the season, Paul was sent on loan to South Georgia Tormenta FC of USL League One to increase playing time. Lewis returns to the Battery for 2021 eager to continue growing in his young professional career.
“I am incredibly excited to be back with the Battery this season,” Lewis noted. “2020 was a season defined by adversity and, as a team, we persevered. In 2021, I look forward to completing our mission of being back on top of the USL Championship, playing alongside a powerful roup of teammates and continuing to grow and develop under Coach Anhaueser, Coach Huddock and Coach Wilson.”
