Scott Buete began his pro career with Major League Soccer’s Chicago Fire playing 21 games during the 2004 & 2005 seasons. In 2006 Buete transferred to the Atlanta Silverbacks where he played 77 games in three years and was a member of the 2007 side that advanced to the USL First Division Championship game.

A native of Bowie, MD, Buete was a four-year starter for the University of Maryland; Buete was Chicago’s first round SuperDraft pick (ninth overall) in 2004. At Maryland Buete was a key figure in the Terrapins two NCAA Final Four appearances, 2002 ACC Tournament championship, and was named First Team All-American in 2003.
