Carolina Challenge Cup update - MLS teams select young prospects in draft – TFC coach Preki to be inducted into National Soccer Hall of Fame
Charleston, SC. The three Major League Soccer sides coming to Charleston in March for the Carolina Challenge Cup participated in the 2010 MLS SuperDraft Thursday in Philadelphia with each side picking up young prospects for the upcoming season. Real Salt Lake spiced up the end of the first round by swapping picks in a deal that sent former Galaxy midfielder Clint Mathis back to LA. RSL moved up one slot and selected the University of Portland’s Collen Warner with its improved pick. RSL made University of New Mexico MF Justin Davis its second round selection (32nd overall).

D.C. United selected UNC defender Jordan Graye in the fourth round (55th overall) of the SuperDraft. A Washington DC native and former United Academy player, Graye was United’s only selection in the draft.
Toronto FC picked 17 year old defender Zachary Herold in the second round of the SuperDraft. A Port St. Lucie, Florida native, Herold is a Generation adidas player and has played 15 games for the United States U-17 residency program.

Expansion team Philadelphia Union picked 18 year old forward Danny Mwanga from Oregon State with the first pick overall in the Draft.

Toronto FC head coach Preki Radosavljevic has been elected to the National Soccer Hall of Fame on the Player ballot. Radosavljevic is Major League Soccer's only two-time MVP and heads into the Hall with Thomas Dooley, the 1993 U.S. Soccer Athlete of the Year. The two former players were both members of the 1998 U.S. FIFA World Cup team, and the European-born duo started back-to-back MLS All-Star games together in 1998-1999.
