For the second time at Patriots Point this year, the Charleston Battery are hosting Pups at the Pitch, pres. by CompanAIn™, for the match on Wednesday, September 2, against Hartford Athletic (7 p.m. ET kickoff). We heard the feedback loud and clear after the first Pups at the Pitch night on June 24, and the game is back by popular demand!
Fans will be able to bring their canine companions to the stadium for another pawsome evening with the Battery.
An update this time around, all ticket levels will include the ability to bring your dog to the game, no access codes will be needed. That means as long as you have a ticket, you are able to bring your dog! Tickets start at $24 (taxes and fees included) and cover one adult and one dog (the dog is included in the ticket purchase), and fans will have to enter through Gate 3 to sign the waiver.

House Rules for Pups at the Pitch
- One dog per adult is allowed.
- Dogs must be on leash at all times (no retractable leashes).
- Dogs can navigate throughout the stadium, pavilion and stands.
- After hearing feedback from fans, dogs will be permitted in the turf areas, such as the team store.
- Fans looking to enter with their dogs must sign a waiver on-site indicating their dog is up to date on vaccines and that they accept liability for their dog’s actions. This waiver can be reviewed in advance here, but will have to be signed upon entry.
- Fans with dogs may only enter through Gate 3 (see the map below), which is where the waivers will be available to be signed.
- Gates open at 5:30 p.m.
Wondering if you should bring your dog to the match?
Yes, only if your dog…
- Is up to date on all required vaccinations and old enough to be around other dogs and people (4+ months of age)
- Is in relatively good health and can walk up and down a flight of stairs
- Does well with crowds and loud noises such as drums, horns, and cheering
- Does well on leash and is not reactive toward other dogs or humans
Best to keep them at home if your dog…
- Is unvaccinated or under 4 months of age
- Is a senior dog that would have trouble navigating stairs and being outside for an extended period of time
- Tends to get overheated
- Is an intact female in heat
- Is exhibiting any signs of illness close to the day of the game, such as a cough, nasal discharge, lethargy or diarrhea. These symptoms can be signs of potentially infectious illnesses, and it would be best for your dog, as well as the other dogs in attendance, if they did not attend
- Has issues with loud noises and crowds
- Is reactive toward other dogs and/or people
- While we love and appreciate all of our four-legged Battery fans, we understand that not all dogs are comfortable in social settings or around other dogs, and kindly ask you to please keep them home if their behavior is not ready for matchday yet, for the safety and enjoyment of all fans and dogs in attendance

Pre-Match Military K-9 Demonstration
We’re thrilled to welcome back the 628th Security Forces Squadron from Joint Base Lindsey Graham to perform a K-9 demonstration before kickoff! K-9 Gloria, a Belgian Malinois, will be showing off her skills for fans to kick off the night, so be sure to get to your seats early to see her in action.
Halftime Agility Show
Stick around for a special halftime performance on the pitch by Low Country Dog Agility, presented by CompanAIn™!
Members of the CompanAIn™ community, the LCDA dogs will display their speed, skills and personalities on the field.
Meowdog Animal Rescue in the House
The club is thrilled to partner with Meowdog Animal Rescue for the match. Meowdog Animal Rescue is a volunteer-led organization, and their mission is to provide shelter, safety, and medical care to animals in need, as well as to alleviate overcrowding and abuse in shelters due to high population and lack of funding.
Members of the Meowdog Animal Rescue team will be at the Kids Pitch, located near Gate 1 in the northwest corner of the stadium, with adoptable dogs to visit, play with or even take home – Meaning you could end the night with both a Battery win and a new fuzzy family member.
Battery Bandana Giveaway
Arrive early! The first 50 dogs through Gate 3 on Wednesday will receive a free Battery bandana (one size fits most). Gates open at 5:30pm.
If you can’t arrive in time for the giveaway, don’t worry, fans will still be able to purchase a bandana at the team store in the pavilion so your dog can rep the Battery in style too.

If you are bringing your dog to the match, stop by the CompanAIn™ activation in the pavilion to officially join the CompanAIn™ K9 Club. Create your pet’s free CompanAIn™ profile and enter for a chance to be one of three lucky winners taking home:

Halftime Weenie Dog Race
Fans are encouraged to stay in their seats at halftime as there will be a weenie dog race with our friends from Dachshunds Of Charleston, sponsored by CompanAIn™. The legs will be short, but the stakes will be high to see which ween wins it!
S.T.A.R. Therapy Dogs at Gate 1
No pup? No problem. Fans will also be able to meet therapy dogs from Southeastern Therapy Animal Resources (S.T.A.R.) at Gate 1, near the stadium pavilion. S.T.A.R. is a local non-profit and club of nationally registered pet therapy volunteers right here in the Lowcountry.
Post-Match Walk
After the final whistle, fans are invited to walk a lap around the field with their dog and have an opportunity for a photo on the stadium field.
