The Lowcountry’s oldest and most beloved Oktoberfest celebration returns to MUSC Health Stadium for a 12th consecutive year on Sunday, Oct. 4, with another memorable day of seasonal beer, German music and food, and homemade fun.
More than just a celebration of fall and all-things German, Charleston Oktoberfest presented by Weihenstephan also become the city’s favorite annual community picnic, with games, outdoor activities for children and an atmosphere that encourages friends and families to get away from their various screens and enjoy the simple pleasure of each others’ company.
In addition to music and dancing under the big festival tent, there are field-day contests and jump castles.
Advance tickets to the family-friendly, noon-to 5 p.m. event are $5, and include free parking. Children 12 and under are admitted free. Order your tickets over the phone at (843) 971-4625, or purchase them online.
Tickets are $8 at the gate on Oct. 4.
This year’s sponsors include the Charleston Battery and Johnsonville, which will be providing the bratwurst. We’ll be adding a Sierra Nevada Oktoberfest beer for this year’s event. This year’s band will be The German Connection.
